Eve of St. John
Eve of St. John
Print of the original by Peter Hurd
In what is perhaps Hurd’s hallmark work, Eve of St. John, the foreman’s daughter is bathed in the light of a candle in her hands. The Portrait of Nito and Dona Nestorita are two more subjects within the same family. We often have members of this family stop into the gallery and marvel at the paintings of their “Grandpa, Uncle, Great grandmother, and Aunt.”
