About P. Black Martin
After living in Lincoln, NM in the 1970s, he has bounced around Texas, New Mexico, Oklahoma, until moving back to Ruidoso in 2000 to raise his family. Black has been a solo performer and worked with many bands playing blues, rock, bluegrass, and honkytonk music. He and his wife, Deanna are often found busking Midtown Ruidoso with world music percussion and guitar.
I love playing and singing the Old Western tunes and country music from my childhood. It’s what I grew up with, and what I know best. I try to write songs that reflect that part of my life.”
Blake’s also worked as a horse-wrangler, journalist and wildlife documentary film maker. He currently writes songs for television and film with Island Hustle Publishing in Nashville, TN.
